Ellenborough’s Robbie Thompson spoke on behalf of the club after receiving news of their successful bid.

“After learning earlier today that Ellenborough Rangers had been accepted into the NCL, we were over the moon. As a club, we have strived to enter this prestigious competition for several years. This could not have been achieved without the hard work and dedication of our committee, coaches, back room staff and players, as well as our supporters who follow the team week after week. Some special people in the history of our club also need to be mentioned because without them we would not be in the position we are in today: Kevan Gorge, John Batty, Alan Perry, Wilson Steele, Billy Bryce En As a club we now look forward to 2023 and will begin pre-season training at the end of November 2022. We are extremely eager to test ourselves in domestic competition and against new opponents every week. We would also like to thank CARLA for giving us a platform to showcase the strength of the game in West Cumbria and will always have a strong presence within the CARLA league our A team will compete in in 2023.
