The Europa League and Europa Conference League group stage draws take place on Friday, with Leicester, West Ham, Rangers, Celtic and Tottenham set to find out their opponents in the 2021/22 competition.

When are the draws?

The 2021/22 UEFA Europa League group stage draw will take place from 11am (BST) on Friday 27 August in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Europa Conference League draw will follow later from 12:30 p.m.

Twelve teams qualified for the group stage due to their league position last season, while 10 teams transferred from the Champions League after missing out on qualification for this competition and 10 teams qualified via the play-offs of the Europa League.

How is the Europa League draw going?

Teams will be split into four pots, based on their UEFA club coefficients.

One team from each of the four seeding pots will be drawn from all eight groups, AH, and no team can play another in their league at this stage.

What is the format of the Europa League?

Teams in each group play each other home and away, with the same teams meeting on Days 1 and 5, or Days 2 and 6, or Days 3 and 4.

The group winners will advance to the round of 16.

The finalists will take part in the new knockout play-offs, where they will face third-placed teams in the UEFA Champions League for places in the round of 16.

Third-placed teams are transferred for the Europa Conference League knockout play-offs.

The teams will be divided into four pots according to the coefficients of the clubs.

Teams will be split into eight groups of four, each containing one team from each seeding pot. No team can play another in their league at this stage.
