Shamrock Rovers will face the loser of Qarabag and Ferencvaros in the Europa League play-offs if they manage to beat North Macedonia’s Shkupi in the third leg of qualifying.
The first leg of this match will take place in Tallaght on Wednesday evening, with the return leg next Tuesday. If they progress, they are guaranteed to play in the group stage, with the losers of their play-offs ending up in the Europa Conference League.
If they lose to Shkupi, they will face either KI of the Faroe Islands or FC Ballkani of Kosovo in the Conference League qualifiers.
Qarabag took part in the group stages of the Europa League Conference last season and played in the Europa League three times. Ferencvaros beat German side Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League group stage last year.
Tuesday’s Europa Conference League draw pitted Sligo Rovers against Dunajska Streda or FCSB – formerly Steaua Bucharest – in their play-off if they can overcome Viking FK first. While St Patrick’s Athletic will face winners Brondby and Basel if they beat CSKA Sofia.
Elsewhere in the Europa League qualifiers draw, Hearts will face Linfield or Swiss champions FC Zurich. Linfield will host the Swiss team on Thursday in the first leg of the third qualifying round.
