Kawhi Leonard is arguably the most unintentionally funny player in the NBA. Everyone talks about the time he called himself a ‘funny guy’ and let out one of the weirdest laughs we’ve heard at a press conference, but there are plenty of such moments of Leonard where he is one of the funniest players in the NBA.
There’s a commercial from Kawhi’s time in San Antonio where he talks to Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker in a British accent and shows off his big hands. Moreover, it was also recorded once by Serge Ibaka in a car, and his reaction was to let out an adamant “what does it feel like, baby” at the camera.
Leonard also had a hilarious moment during the 2020 NBA All-Star Game. After being awarded All-Star Game MVP, Leonard stopped by the post-game press conference and pulled out a bottle of Gatorade from the table, and bluntly told everyone that Gatorade was not sponsoring him.
Gatorade is an NBA sponsor, so maybe the league wasn’t happy about it. Seeing Kawhi do this is kind of funny because of how he let everyone know why he was doing it which was a fair reason most people could relate to rather than delving into thoughts trying to figure out why Kawhi would do this.
Leonard is heading for a massive season in 2022-23. After spending the entirety of the recent season with an injury, Kawhi hopes to be operational and help the LA Clippers achieve their championship dreams.
If Leonard and teammate Paul George can stay healthy throughout the season, the Clippers are arguably one of the favorites to win the championship. Their health is a major “if,” so hopefully the Clippers can have an all-time great season in franchise history that proves their legitimacy as one of the best teams in the NBA.
