Pacos de Ferreira defeated Larne 4-0 in the third qualifying round of the Europa League Conference this week.

This result makes the Portuguese side extremely likely will face Tottenham Hotspur in the next qualifying round, a miraculous turnaround on the North Irish side.

A brace from Pereira Junior secured the first leg for Ferrerira, but two more goals from Antunes Eustaqui and Silva De Jesus largely obscured the second leg.

Tottenham will face the eventual winner in a home and away fixture, with the first game taking place on Thursday 19 August – four days after their first Premier League game with Manchester City – and the second leg on Thursday 26 August. (Tottenham Hotspur).

Spurs qualified for the new competition thanks to their league rankings in the 2020/2021 season, where they finished seventh. Many fans will not consider the third tier European competition to be a priority.

Potential adversaries Pacos de Ferreira finished fifth in Primeira Liga last season, while Larne finished fourth in the NIFL Premiership.

SpursWeb Reviews

The Europa Conference league was pretty tedious as it had to play a two-legged qualifying game let alone. But you have to make the most of a bad situation. Play young, build the shape of the out of shape players. This competition doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
