Europa Conference League Draw Roma Face Winners Tottenham

Europa Conference League draw: Roma face winners Tottenham

0

Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma must be wary of Vitesse Arnhem after being paired with the Dutch side in Friday’s Europa Conference League draw for the Round of 16.

Vitesse knocked out Mourinho’s former club Tottenham Hotspur – who started the tournament as joint favorites alongside Roma – in the group stage.

Spurs were beaten 1-0 at Arnhem in October last year, before winning the second leg 3-2 in London in Antonio Conte’s opener.

Vitesse had beaten Dundalk and Anderlecht to reach the group stage, where they took 10 points from six games to qualify as runners-up behind Rennes.

Spurs would have finished above Vitesse had they beaten Rennes in Week 6. But that game was called off due to a COVID outbreak at Spurs and later awarded as the default win for the French side .

After controversially boosting Spurs to a place in the last 32, Vitesse overcame a 2-1 loss for the first time to beat Austria’s Rapid Vienna 3-2 on aggregate this week.

Roma will start as strong favorites to beat Vitesse, with Mourinho expected to take the competition seriously.

Including the qualifying round, Roma have won six, drawn one and lost one of their eight Europa Conference League matches to date.

Roma are currently eighth in Serie A, while Vitesse are sixth in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Elsewhere in Friday’s last 16 Europa League draw, Leicester were up against Rennes, who held Spurs 2-2 in France in the group stage.

Rennes are fifth in Ligue 1 – six points below second place – while Europa League dropouts Leicester currently sit 12th in the Premier League.

But Leicester appear to be meaning business in the Conference League after beating Danish Rangers 7-2 over two legs in the round of 16.

Leicester are currently ranked by British bookmakers as the favorites to become the first-ever UEFA Europa Conference League champions.

Roma are third favorites, just behind Marseille, who will face Basel in the round of 16.

Leicester City Sent Stern Warning After Toughest Europa Conference League Draw

Leicester City sent stern warning after ‘toughest’ Europa Conference League draw

0

There is a sense of concern among some Leicester City supporters after their side drew against Stade Rennais in the Europa Conference League Round of 16.

It has been pointed out that Stade Rennais – or Rennes – are currently fifth in Ligue 1 and have scored 47 league goals this season. City have conceded 43.

What will be certain, however, is that the Foxes faithful will be traveling in numbers given that it will be a short trip to France for the return leg on March 17.

Here’s how some fans reacted to the draw:

@JackJ_ : Arguably the toughest possible draw for Leicester there. It will certainly take a much better performance than yesterday’s game to have a chance of progressing.

@THENUNEATONFOX : it’s Rennes. Probably the best team in a difficult selection.

@CBailey31 : Rennes is currently 5th in Ligue 1. Has scored 47

@amy_flanagandy : It’s us outside then!

@Ryanlcfc2 : Satisfying draw and happy with that as long as the defense can at least pull themselves together.

@Ultra_Fox : Hello hello.. LCFC were drawn against Stade Rennais in the Europa Conference League. Tough, but very beatable opposition – and not the hardest place for the Foxes to reach.

@LCFCtn : Farewell to the conference league! Stade Rennais will beat us comfortably!

Ndidi Iheanacho And Lookman Help Leicester Reach Europa Conference League Round Of 16 Reuters

Ndidi, Iheanacho and Lookman help Leicester reach Europa Conference League Round of 16 – Reuters

The Nigerian trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman were in action as Leicester City beat Randers 3-1 (7-2 on aggregate) at Cepheus Randers Park in Denmark to reach the last 16 of the Europa Conference League.

While Ndidi and Iheanacho provided assists in two of Leicester’s goals, another Nigerian, Stephen Odey, scored Randers’ consolation goal in the Danes’ 3-1 home defeat.

The goal was Odey’s first for Randers since October 2021 and his 11th in all competitions this season.

Ndidi set up Harvey Barnes for the opener in just two minutes with a pass halfway with the England striker calmly heading home.

James Maddison scored two beauties as Leicester made light work of Randers with a 7-2 rout on aggregate.

Brendan Rodgers’ men entered this play-off round having finished third in their Europa League group but sailed with few problems.

Holding a 4-1 lead from the first leg, it took just 100 seconds for Leicester to extend their advantage as Harvey Barnes broke clear and curled a delicious finish into the far corner.

The England international could have added another in the second half but fired wide from a sharp angle.

Countryman Maddison then scored twice in the space of four minutes with a free kick into the top corner and a sumptuous curling strike from 25 yards out.

Randers scored a late goal when Kasper Schmeichel’s heavy touch on the ball allowed Odey to sneak in and convert a giveaway from close range.

The Europa Conference League draw will take place today when the Foxes are drawn against a group winner.

UEFA’s newly created third club competition represents Leicester’s only chance to win silverware this season after suffering a shock exit in the FA Cup, being knocked out of the Carabao Cup and sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League.

Europa Conference League round of 16 return matches: Leicester, Marseille, PSV, Slavia and Bodø/Glimt slip | UEFA Europa Conference League

0

Former European champions Marseille and PSV Eindhoven took a step closer to becoming the first UEFA Europa Conference League winners with solid wins on Thursday, but Celtic had no way back as the Glasgow giants were stuck in Bodø/Glimt.

Elsewhere, Partizan confirmed their place in Friday’s round of 16 tie on an upside-down night for Ricardo Gomes, while Slavia Praha moved on to the next stage after a second 3-2 victory against Fenerbahce.

Predictor: How did you do?

Randers 1-3 Leicester City (agg: 2-7)

Highlights: Randers 1-3 Leicester

A spectacular brace from James Maddison helped Leicester to an aggregate victory in Denmark. Harvey Barnes put the Foxes ahead after just two minutes, before the hosts grew bigger and Kasper Schmeichel was forced to dismiss Stephen Odey in fine fashion.

However, Maddison struck a delicious free-kick and sweet curling effort in the space of four minutes in the second half, before Randers reduced the deficit late, Odey capitalizing on a defensive confusion.

Key stat: Barnes’ first goal was Leicester’s first goal in European competition.

Bodø/Glimt 2-0 Celtic (agg: 5-1)

Highlights: Bodø/Glimt 2-0 Celtic

Highlights: Bodø/Glimt 2-0 Celtic

Bodø/Glimt’s European adventure continues after finishing the job they started so well last week in Glasgow. This time their 2-0 win over Celtic was more professional, with a goal after nine minutes from Ola Solbakken putting them in control before Hugo Vetlesen made sure of it by completing a good team move after the break.

The Scottish side never looked like they would force a comeback in the draw and Bodø/Glimt were comfortable winners in Norway.

Key stat: The Norwegian champions have won ten of their 12 European home games this century (D1 L1), including seven of seven in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.

Slavia Prague 3-2 Fenerbahce (agg: 6-4)

Yira Collins Sor scored his first two goals for Slavia as his side secured a second 3-2 victory over the Yellow Canaries.

Ivan Schranz robbed Slavia in front, before Sor swooped in to finish the post. Mert Hakan Yandaş hit a good curler to give Fenerbahçe hope but Slavia were outstanding after the break with Sor hammering the roof of the net to make it 3-1 after his side missed a crowd of occasions. Mërgim Berisha’s stoppage-time goal was a consolation for Fenerbahçe.

Key stat: Slavia have taken 21 shots on goal in this game and have lost only one of their last 13 European matches in Prague.

Qarabag 0-3 Marseille (agg: 1-6)

Highlights: Qarabag 0-3 Marseille

Highlights: Qarabag 0-3 Marseille

A clinical Marseille extended their first-leg advantage over Qarabağ to seal a place in the Round of 16 with minimal fuss. The Azerbaijani hosts came out with intention but after weathering the early storm they were undone when Pape Gueye put OM ahead after latching on to a fine ball from Dimitri Payet.

The visitors sat deep and protected their buffer as Qarabağ relentlessly chased, with Matteo Guendouzi and Konrad De La Fuente finally ending their hopes late.

Key stat: Qarabağ was appearing in a UEFA spring knockout game for the first time in his 18 continental campaigns.

After that ?

The winners will take their place in Friday’s Round of 16 draw, where they will not be seeded.

The top seeds are AZ Alkmaar, Basel, Copenhagen, Feyenoord, Ghent, LASK, Rennes and Roma.

Maccabi Tel Aviv 1-1 PSV Eindhoven (agg: 1-2)

Highlights: M. Tel-Aviv 1-1 PSV

Highlights: M. Tel-Aviv 1-1 PSV

The Dutch team suffered a slightly nervous finish in Israel but still booked their place. PSV looked at home and were watered down after Yorbe Vertessen’s late deflected goal rewarded their dominance, but were forced through an unforeseen storm when Enric Saborit’s 91st-minute header found the way nets.

Second best for much of the evening, Maccabi had narrowed to 0-0 when Stipe Perica deftly fired a shot at the post shortly after the restart.

Key stat: Belgian youngster Vertessen has scored 11 goals for club and country this season.

Partizan 2-1 Sparta Prague (agg: 3-1)

Highlights: Partizan 2-1 Sparta Prague

Highlights: Partizan 2-1 Sparta Prague

Ricardo Gomes scored twice and was sent off as the dominant Partizan forged. The hosts’ brilliant start was rewarded when Gomes ignored a defender and fired in, then headed in from a corner for his 26th goal of the season.

Slobodan Urošević had a header ruled out for offside before Gomes was sent off for simulation after falling in the box. Adam Hložek offered Sparta a late consolation against the ten men.

Key stat: Partizan have not progressed beyond the round of 16 in UEFA competition since 1989/90, when they were knocked out of the European Cup Winners’ Cup quarter-finals by Dinamo Bucureşti.

PAOK 2-1 Midtjylland (agg: 2-1, PAOK win 5-3 at pens)

Alexandros Paschalakis’ save on Max Meyer proved crucial for PAOK. Meyer took the first penalty of the shootout for his team after the tie ended, but was denied by the home goalkeeper, and PAOK then converted all five penalties into progress.

PAOK took the lead on the night when Andrija Živković stepped in from close range, and Vieirinha put them ahead on aggregate with a superb long-range effort. However, the visitors forced extra time when Meyer brought in fellow substitute Daniel Høegh to score with a header.

Key stat: PAOK won a penalty shoot-out in UEFA competition for the first time, having lost four times.

Speed 2-0 Rapid Vienna (agg: 3-2)

Highlights: Vitesse 2-0 Rapid Vienna

Highlights: Vitesse 2-0 Rapid Vienna

Former Rapid Wien trainee Adrian Grbić struck the first blow early on, rushing Eli Dasa’s fine, weighted pass to nullify the visitors’ first-leg advantage. Dasa again delivered for the second on 19 minutes, Matúš Bero twisting his ball high before finishing low to put the hosts ahead in the draw.

Vitesse had chances to settle the game after the break; Dasa had a shot blocked and Maximilian Wittek slipped an effort against the post, but Rapid failed to exploit the hosts’ nerves.

Key stat: Vitesse entered this game without having won for six games (D1 L5), conceding 19 goals in the process.

Psv Progress In Europa Conference League After Draw In Israel

PSV progress in Europa Conference League after draw in Israel

0

PSV Eindhoven qualified for the next round of the Europa Conference League after a 1-1 draw against Maccabi Tel Aviv. PSV are 2-1 on aggregate.

Roger Schmidt reinstated Eran Zahavi in the PSV attack in the absence of Cody Gakpo, while Joey Veerman was only on the bench, despite his starring role in the win over Heerenveen at the weekend.

PSV had the best of the early stages in Israel with Noni Madueke providing the wing threat. However, it didn’t result in the first goal before the break. The hosts also provided danger at times with Stipe Perica hitting the post early in the second half.

The game had to be stopped in the 55th minute when the referee got tired of the home crowd throwing objects onto the pitch. The players left the pitch but play resumed shortly afterwards.

Finally, in the 84th minute, Yorbe Vertessen opened the scoring for PSV with a strike that changed direction before finding the net. The lead was short-lived as Enric Saborit set up a frantic end with a header, but PSV managed to hold the draw.

PSV now move on to the next round, but big improvements will be needed.

5 Ways To Beautify Your Conference Room For 2022

5 Ways to Beautify Your Conference Room for 2022

0

Conference rooms are nothing new. For decades, office spaces have set up these separate spaces for team meetings, stand-ups, conferences, and one-on-one sessions.

With the rise of hybrid work models, workers are spending less time in the office. Their time is likely to revolve around video meetings with staff working from home and external clients, so creating a welcoming environment that harnesses productivity is paramount.

Whether you’re renovating your existing facility or investing thousands of dollars in brand new office space, these five steps will future-proof your conference room for any event.

Choose the right equipment

The video conferencing trend is quickly overtaking in-person meetings, so being prepared with the technology you’ll need to support this is a great place to start.

Consider the size of the room and the purpose it is likely to serve: a powerful set of speakers will help participants hear distant colleagues much more easily. We’ve already put together a handy guide to buying a professional webcam, but for a conference room, a video bar would be much better suited. The best video bars combine a camera (sometimes two, consisting of wide-angle and telephoto lenses), a sensitive microphone and speakers.

Either way, consider whether the camera has a wide enough angle to capture everyone in the room. Usually going over 120 degrees should be sufficient, with a 60-80 degree setting best suited for an individual worker.

A large screen will work well in most scenarios, but you may want to consider mounting multiple screens side-by-side in rooms likely to be used for video conferencing, especially with high numbers of participants. Select a display with a minimum resolution of 4K; better displays will be able to digitally enhance low-resolution video to appear clearer.

Historically, a desktop computer located close to the screen will have been used by a meeting host or presenter to load their visual aids onto a large screen, but more and more users are using laptops and mobile devices like tablets in the interest of portability with the new hybrid working. routines. Also, some video bars have built-in support for some video conferencing suites, so there’s no need to hook them up to a computer at all. Eliminating a large computer can create a cleaner environment, but whether you opt for a computer or not, be sure to provide plenty of connections for people to connect to screens, microphones, internet connections, etc A combination panel will look the tidiest.

If you are setting up more than one conference room, it is a good idea to standardize the equipment used so that no matter which room an employee is in, they can use the equipment. A good network connection in every room is essential.

Accessibility

Making sure your room is accessible to all of your workers is vital; this could include installing wider doors, mounting key touch points in lower positions, adding clear signage and using Braille plaques where necessary.

Any conference room needs to be versatile, especially as budgets tighten due to the pandemic and all its effects, so designing a room to be equally comfortable for team meetings and individual sessions should be part of your thinking.

Finally, using technology to your advantage to allow employees to book rooms can prove beneficial. The best systems integrate with users’ calendars and even have wall screens next to the door to the room to let others know if they’re busy.

Good layout

Paying close attention to who is likely to use your rooms will dictate the best layout. The first of two popular configurations is to arrange the desks and rest areas in a “U” shape. It’s ideal for presentations or other meetings that are usually led by one person.

The second common layout focuses on a central island-shaped table, often referred to as a meeting room layout. This is ideal for meetings and interactive discussions.

There are many other layouts you can experiment with. We love the banquet style tables which are ideal for networking and collaborative work.

Whichever layout you decide best suits your needs, remember to space managers out among regular workers to challenge the intimidating reporting structure, creating a more comfortable environment.

A large meeting space table will have access to ports for power, Ethernet, and even to connect to the room display and other hardware. These all-in-one desks don’t have to be expensive – the floor connections are just as effective.

Furniture

Conference and meeting rooms have long used uniform designs with little creativity, which means there is a great opportunity to spruce up your room.

Be adventurous with design and experiment with materials and colors that you don’t tend to use in the rest of the office. Conference rooms should inspire creativity, and what better way to instill it than a themed room that helps create a positive vibe.

Conference rooms can be tough places, so using warm decorations can help soften any room. A worker who feels more comfortable is more likely to be productive and have a valuable contribution. An easy way to do this is to install mood lighting, whether it’s smart light strips or low, bistro-style pendant lights.

Avoid distracting designs and furnishings, and remember to never choose form over function. Any office chair, for example, should be ergonomic and supportive, while desks should be spacious enough to accommodate at least a worker’s computer, laptop and a drink.

Create the perfect environment

Regardless of interior design and room layout, any space should be isolated enough to avoid outside distractions.

If you’re building new construction, consider placing your space away from office hotspots and social areas to reduce distractions and outside noise infiltration.

There are still ideas to implement if you are using an existing space. If you are renovating, adding additional sound insulation can pay dividends. In order to keep the room from looking too dark, add windows with an opaque coating. This softens the light while minimizing distractions from bystanders.

We presented the best free office software.
