When is the 2022 Europa Conference League final? Date, time, city and host stadium of the inaugural UEFA event

The inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League may be the third tier of European men’s club competition, but it will be the only chance to win silverware this season for AS Roma (Italy) and Feyenoord (Netherlands), who will be eager to be the first team to hoist the trophy.

To say that the creation of the Europa Conference League has been met with mixed reactions following initial proposals from UEFA, which eventually gave the tournament the green light in 2021. But for clubs that miss out on Champions League qualification and the Europa League is another opportunity to compete with European competition and chase silverware.

The competition attracted a lot of attention in its first year, with the quarter-finals featuring representatives from six different leagues across Europe.

The Italian and Dutch giants have survived the round of 16 and will face off in a match that will be the appetizer to the Champions League main course three days later in Paris.

Where is the 2022 Europa Conference League final?

The Europa Conference League Final will take place on May 25 at Arena Kombetare in Tirana, Albania.

The first final in the competition’s history will also be a historic occasion for Albania, as the nation’s capital hosts a major European final for the first time.

The arena, which is also the new home of the Albania national team, is one of the newest stadiums in Europe. The Albanian FA chose to demolish the old national stadium, the Qemal Stafa, in 2016 due to UEFA security concerns.

The new stadium officially opened in November 2019, with Albania playing their first competitive game there later that month: a 2-0 UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying defeat to France in front of a crowd of 22 500 spectators.
