How Much Have Leicester City Won In Europe With Conference League Prizes Up For Grabs

How much have Leicester City won in Europe with Conference League prizes up for grabs

0

Leicester City’s potential gains from a race for Europa Conference League silverware will pale in comparison to what might have been won in the Europa League or Champions League.

City will take part in UEFA’s third-tier competition from next month, starting with the knockout stage against Danish side Randers, after being knocked out of the Europa League in December.

They are expected to go far in the Conference League and are only second to Jose Mourinho’s Roma with bookmakers to lift the trophy.

With silverware comes winnings, and a run to the trophy would see City win €10.9m (£9.2m), with prize money increasing for each stage of the competition reached.

But if City were still in the Europa League, advancing to the final and knocking out the winners would earn significantly more, at €19.5m (£16.4m).

Both of these figures are simply from prize money, but television revenue will account for a large part of the money clubs receive.

For example, City are expected to have earned €15.7m (£13.2m) in TV revenue from their participation in the Europa League group stage, while Tottenham, in the Europa Conference League, earned just around €5.2m (£4.4m). ) broadcast games.

The good news for City is that they are already estimated to have earned more from this season’s European tour than last season.

Football finance blog SwissRamble expects City’s total revenue from their campaign to date to be €21.7m (£18.2m), a few million more than last season, the figure continues amounting to €17.4m for a run in which the club were knocked out in the last 32, losing to Slavia Prague.

There’s also the ticket revenue bonus, which City didn’t receive last season with all European matches played behind closed doors.

But the big knock is that City aren’t getting the kind of money they could have earned had they held on to a Champions League place.

For the second consecutive season, City slipped out of the top four in the final weeks of the campaign.

The four clubs that have made the Champions League this season – Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea – are estimated to have all earned at least €78m (£65.6m) in competition alone. group stage.

The Conference Room Scenes Were A Black Hole But Nothing Stopped Production Like These 2 Characters

The Conference Room Scenes Were A “Black Hole,” But Nothing Stopped Production Like These 2 Characters

0

Office makes fans of several generations laugh. But behind the scenes, the cast often cracked or broke character during filming. As Matt Sohn, the NBC show’s cinematographer, describes some scenes were a “black hole” for the production. Again, nothing could compare to the “stopping” of production when Office the cast had to film a scene involving Jim and Pam.

The cast of

The cast of ‘The Office’ often broke on set

There’s no doubt about the shoot Office was a blast for the cast. Thanks to Brian Baumgartner’s two podcasts, fans get an even better sense of what it was like behind the scenes on the NBC comedy series.

Some cast members like Mindy Kaling became known for breaking character in scenes. But sometimes the entire cast struggled to stay together during filming.

For example, in season 6, episode 13, Jim (John Krasinski) tells Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) that she can be Santa Claus for the Christmas party. Naturally, Michael (Steve Carell) takes issue with this because he’s still the office Santa.

Michael seizes an opportunity when Phyllis won’t let Kevin (Baumgartner) sit on her lap. To give Phyllis a boost, Michael pulls out a chair from his desk and invites Kevin to sit down. This scene was a challenge for the entire cast, especially Baumgartner and Carell. If you look closely, you’ll also spot Kaling and Ed Helms laughing in the background.

Conference room scenes presented a challenge on the set of ‘The Office’

Although some notable scenes were difficult for the individual actors, the boardroom scenes almost always turned into “chaos”, according to Sohn. “The conference room scenes were the black hole scenes,” Sohn told Baumgartner on The desktop in depth.

“They were brilliant…but when you have the whole cast sitting in chairs and Michael Scott does one of his tracks…that would decide if we were going to be there for hours or we were going to get by.”

Sohn said the conference room scenes could go either way depending on the mood of the cast. If they felt giggling that day, the conference room scenes turned into that “black hole” mentioned by Sohn. “Constantly people were breaking up, having fun – it was chaos.”

Jim and Pam Scenes Would Derail ‘The Office’ Production

Baumgartner disagrees with Sohn in terms of scenes that could end the production. “I said nothing could stop the production like a Jim and Pam scene,” he told the DP. Sohn remembers a lot of gatherings and set cleanings when scenes of Jim and Pam popped up. But that’s because the cast and crew wanted everything to be perfect for the fans.

According to Sohn, the scenes of Jim and Pam shutting down production depended on who was directing the episode, who wrote the episode, and who was on set at the time. “Those early scenes of Jim and Pam where they were just getting started – fucking him?” he remembered. “We cleared the set for an hour and a half, I think.”

Sohn recalled the many conversations the showrunners had regarding where to film Jim and Pam’s first kiss shot. “I think their relationship was such a good thing and it was so slow at first,” Sohn said. “They wanted to keep it grounded and keep it real. It was finding that exact tone that made everyone happy [and] have kept their relationship on point.

For Sohn and many fans, Jim and Pam’s relationship seemed real because of all that careful decision-making. “It wasn’t one of those ridiculous, romantic, silly things that…just happen,” he concluded. “It was a slow burn.”

Bodo Glimt In Transfer Turmoil As Celtic Europa Conference League Foes Face Another High Profile Exit

Bodo/Glimt in transfer turmoil as Celtic Europa Conference League foes face another high profile exit

0

Bodo/Glimt have been rocked by ANOTHER impending transfer since luring Celtic to the Europa Conference League.

The Norwegian champions were on top form after securing a second straight league title when they drew against Ange Postecoglou’s side earlier this month.

The play-off round tie is sure to be a special occasion with Kjetil Knutsen’s 6-1 demolition of Jose Mourinho’s Roma a prime example of his devastating attacking style.

But whatever progress has been made in Europe, he has been unable to stem the tide of players wanting to move on at the end of their season.

Both Patrick Berg and Erik Botheim have left the club, with midfielder Berg joining RC Lens while Botheim opted for a move to FK Krasnodar in Russia.

Now striker Ola Solbakken has hinted he is ready to steal the nest – and ideally wants the deal done as soon as possible.

Speaking to Norway Trunderbladethe said: “We decided that it was not relevant to extend with Bodo/Glimt.

“We have informed the club about this.

“Now they have two windows to sell me. Either this winter or this summer.

“Otherwise I will go for free after next season.”

Bodo/Glimt travel to Glasgow to face Celtic on February 17 before a return leg in the Arctic Circle on February 24.

Key Celtic Performer Set To Miss Rangers Derby And Clubs Conference League Play Offs

Key Celtic performer set to miss Rangers derby and club’s Conference League play-offs

The midfielder was left devastated as he received 27th-minute on-field treatment from the Hampden decider, before TV footage captured him in floods of tears as he sat on the bench after been replaced by Nir Bitton. Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou explained that the 22-year-old had “suffered from the amount of games we are playing at the moment…we suffered because we couldn’t shoot”. Now it has emerged that Turnbull’s suffering may not be short-term, with the injury believed to be serious enough to require an extended spell on the sidelines.

The minimum two-month deadline would count Turnbull out of Rangers’ rescheduled accommodation for the Postecoglou side on Feb. 2, and Conference League fixtures to determine the full roster for the final 16 legs of the new competition. These will see Celtic entertain Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt on February 17, before playing the Scandinavian return leg a week later.

Only seven players in world football had played more competitive minutes than Turnbull when he was sidelined at Hampden. At this stage, the £3.5m signing from Motherwell in the summer of 2020 was the only member of the Celtic squad to have featured in each of the 34 competitive games the club had played by then. A run that has earned him nine goals and seven assists and has earned him 2,840 minutes on the pitch since July.

Postecoglou relied heavily on Tom Rogic and Turnbull for the creative core of his team. He hopes the reinforcements planned for the January transfer window can compensate for the loss of one of his integral performers for a series of tests. A sequence which, before the end of February, will take Celtic to Tynecastle, Fir Park, Pittodrie and Easter Road, in addition to a pivotal derby and assignments in the European and Scottish Cups.

Members of the House and Senate Ukraine Caucus Express Solidarity with Ukraine

December 24, 2021

|

Press Releases

CINCINNATI, OH — Following a videoconference today with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and more than 20 members of the House and Senate to discuss the security situation in Ukraine, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), co-chair of the Ukrainian Senate Caucus, issued the following statement:

“Today we had the opportunity to hear directly from President Zelensky on the ongoing Russian troop build-up along the Ukraine-Russia border and to express our strong solidarity with the people and the democratically elected government of Ukraine.During the call, President Zelenskyy spoke of the Russian threat to its borders, appreciation of US military aid, and strong opposition to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

“As Co-Chair of the Ukraine Caucus, I have worked closely with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to support Ukraine – diplomatically, militarily and economically. Today, as Russia positions more than 100,000 troops on the Ukrainian border, threatening the freedom and territorial sovereignty of our ally, we must support Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian army has made great strides in its increased competence and professionalism. It is a seasoned force that has benefited from four years of material support and training from the United States and which, if necessary, is ready to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

“As we discussed on the call today, our commitment to supporting Ukraine was underscored recently when Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022 which increased our support military through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative The initiative has been extended to 2022 and its funding increased from $250 million in fiscal year 2021 to $300 million. next year, with at least $75 million specifically earmarked for lethal assistance. The funds are being used to help train, equip and support Ukraine’s armed forces in their efforts to defend their independence, sovereignty and integrity. against Russian aggression. The United States must continue to increase the amount of defensive lethal military weapons it sends to Ukraine and adapt it to the threat it will face so that Ukraine can better defend themselves.

We also discussed the recent ceasefire brokered by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in the Donbass and the possibility of a diplomatic dialogue that could lead to improvements in the security situation in Ukraine. As the United States and Russia move closer to convening talks on Ukraine and other issues, President Zelensky stressed that any future discussion on Ukraine’s future must include Ukraine.

“I will continue to urge the Biden administration to immediately impose sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The certification of this pipeline is a serious threat to Ukraine because it gives Russia the ability to deliver natural gas to the Europe without transiting through Ukraine. In addition, Russia will use the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to demand geopolitical concessions from Europe, as it has already done with the government of Moldova and by refusing to alleviate the energy crisis current.

“We also talked about democratic reforms in Ukraine. In addition to our continued support for Ukraine, I am encouraged by the efforts of President Zelesnkyy and other Ukrainian leaders to continue to promote additional reforms to further position Ukraine for integration into the EU and NATO. We must compel Russia to respect its international commitments, including those which promise the territorial sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. President Putin’s demands for a broad dialogue to restore the security situation in Eastern Europe should not be recognized when they are formulated in the barrel of a gun. I strongly urge the Biden administration to begin increasing military assistance, including lethal assistance, to our allies. Russia must know that any offensive military action it takes against Europe will come at a high price.

“Seven years ago, in the Revolution of Dignity, Ukraine and its people stood against their Russian-backed rulers and turned to the West. They have chosen to stand by our side. Now the United States must be on their side.

Tottenham Hotspur Will Be Buzzing About Being Out Of Conference League Mess

Tottenham Hotspur will be ‘buzzing’ about being out of Conference League ‘mess’

0

Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Tottenham Hotspur will be ‘buzzing’ about no longer being part of the Europa Conference League ‘mess’.

Spurs finished seventh in the Premier League last season. This earned them a spot in the brand new Europa Conference League.

After beating Pacos de Ferreira in the qualifying round, they were drawn to face Rennes, Vitesse and Mura in the group stage.

Is Antonio Conte the ultimate manager of the pandemic?

After five games, they had seven points. They were due to face French side Rennes in their final group game.

This was scheduled for December 9 but had to be postponed after a Covid outbreak at Tottenham.

It was announced on Monday that this game was considered a forfeit, which sees Spurs lose 3-0. The English team was subsequently eliminated from the Conference League.

Agbonlahor recounted Football Insider that he believes “everyone associated with Spurs will be happy” to be out of competition:

“I think they’ll be buzzing at the bottom, it’s a shambles of competition,” Agbonlahor said.

“They will be happy to be out of it. It’s the kind of competition, if I was a Villa player and we were to play there, I wouldn’t be happy to play there.

“It doesn’t even count as Europe, to be honest. The Europa League is the end point.

“It’s the third-ranked competition. Personally, I wouldn’t want to play it.

“Basically, especially the players, they will buzz. No more Thursday trips in a shambles competition, no more Thursday-Sunday games.

“Everyone associated with Spurs will be happy, to be honest.”

Elsewhere, Conte has backed Eric Dier to become one of the best defenders in the world:

“Eric Dier can become one of the best players in the world in this position.

“For sure he needs to work and keep improving and understanding the movement with the defensive line.

“He has to lead more, because in that position you have to talk a lot because you have to stay in the middle, at the back where you can see everything.

“He has a lot of room for improvement but we are talking about a very good player, physically strong with a good personality and good technically because he was a midfielder.

“This role is perfect for him. He must continue like this because he can become one of the best central defenders.

Uefas Decision To Exclude Tottenham From The Conference League Is Disrespectful

UEFA’s decision to exclude Tottenham from the Conference League is disrespectful

0

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte said UEFAThe decision to kick them out of Europe shows a lack of respect for the club.

Spurs left the Europa Conference League after the governing body ruled they had ‘abandoned’ their last group game against Rennes when they called it off due to a worsening coronavirus outbreak, handing the France squad a 3-0 victory.

Spurs had nine first-team players with the virus at the time and health officials told them to close their training facility.

They tried unsuccessfully to rearrange the game before the December 31 deadline but ran into pitfalls in the form of the Premier League, who would not allow Spurs to postpone a game, and Rennes, who played hard on a possible new date.

Conte is furious with the decision, says the players are disappointed and wants the club’s lawyers to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Their journey into the inaugural third-tier competition began with a qualifying trip to Portugal in August and Conte says his side deserve to finish it on the pitch.

“It is very difficult to understand this decision. Every club is working very, very hard,” he said.

“Tottenham started playing in this competition from this summer and now it’s unfair for a decision that is not in our hands and to say to Tottenham, ‘Thank you very much, you went here, here and here, but now you lose 3-0’.

“Because what? Why? We did the competition proud to play and tour Europe. But now UEFA are making a decision that I don’t like. It’s a lack of respect for our job. It’s not fair.

“We are convinced that something can change in the future because the players, the fans, the club want to play the qualification on the pitch, not on the court.

“Remember, players ask me why. The players are very, very disappointed with this decision.

“We are all confident because I think you get a punishment if you deserve it, if you miss something, but we prepared for the game against Rennes.

“We did everything to play the game. But if someone else stops you for an important reason – a Covid reason – then I don’t understand why Tottenham have to pay for that situation.

“It’s unfair and for sure, we will fight against this decision because we want to play. We want to play the qualification on the pitch, not on the court.

“We have to play. If we don’t win, it’s fair to get out of this competition. It’s just. We deserve to play the qualification on the ground.

Spurs are back in action in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against West Ham on Wednesday and are potentially three games away from winning a trophy, should the EFL agree to make the semi-finals a single leg.

Conte looks like a good bet to be the man to end Tottenham’s trophy drought, but look at the bigger picture.

“Winning trophies is always important but I think right now, at this time for Tottenham, it’s better to think it’s time to rebuild something big,” he said.

“That’s the most important thing. So of course if you ask me if trophies are important, they are for all clubs.

“If you don’t start building a team in a big way. A trophy is just a situation that can help you.

“For me, it’s important to build a solid base, a foundation, to have a team in a short time that can be competitive, to fight for all the competitions and to fight for all the competitions you play in.”
