To its detractors, this is a third-rate tournament, far from the glamor level of the elite of European football, but the first Europa League Conference which kicks off this week has many advantages.
Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho’s Roma are the star attractions of this brand new third level of continental competition.
It might not sound great, but beyond them it’s an opportunity for clubs in some of the smaller countries on the continent to play more matches, earn more money and to get more visibility.
It’s, basically, a good idea, although it might not attract millions of neutral viewers, but then again, why should it?
There’s a mix of old famous names and obscure little clubs like Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps, who once beat Celtic in the first leg of a Champions League qualifier.
The creation of the Conference League is accompanied by a rationalization of the second division of the Europa League, from 48 inflated teams in the group stage to 32, as in the Champions League.
There are also 32 teams in the Conference League, which offers only one place in each of the five big European leagues, although there is no Spanish team as the future representative Villarreal won the League. Europa and thus qualified for the Champions League.
That leaves Spurs, Roma, Union Berlin from Germany and Rennes from France.
The Netherlands, meanwhile, have three competing clubs, including former European Cup winner Feyenoord, and the goal is to reach the final on May 25 next year at the National compact. Arena in Tirana, the Albanian capital.
– Financial rewards –
The financial rewards on offer are pale compared to the Champions League, with a paltry prize pool of € 235m ($ 278m, £ 201m). In the Champions League, the jackpot is two billion euros.
If you participate in the Champions League in the group stage, you are guaranteed a minimum of around 17 million euros, plus payouts per point earned and money from your TV market, as well as door revenue revenue.
That figure drops dramatically for the Europa League and by the time you get to the Conference League the guaranteed income is only around three million euros.
That’s still a lot for some of the participating clubs and it increases dramatically as the competition progresses – Tottenham, as the top-ranked participating team, could pocket around € 20million by going all the way .
It is certainly not a huge sum for one of the 10 richest clubs in the world with an income last year of almost 400 million pounds, but maybe Nuno Espirito Santo’s side should be focus on the possibility of lifting a rare piece of silverware.
After all, while finishing in the Premier League’s top-four must be their priority, Spurs have only won two League Cups in the past 30 years.
Mourinho, who took charge of a club game for the 1,000th time last weekend, has won it all – including two Champions Leagues, the UEFA Cup and the Europa League – so he’s tempted by the chance to get his hands on on that new trophy, or does he care?
“I don’t want to lie to you and tell you that this competition does not interest me. It interests me. I would like to win it,” he said this week.
Roma will start their home campaign against Bulgarians CSKA Sofia, while Spurs will be in France to face Rennes.
Having maintained their perfect record to start the season by beating Sassuolo with a 91st-minute goal from Stephan El Shaarawy, the Giallorossi are now looking to the group stage of the new competition that no one seems to care much about: the Europa League. Conference. Why do I say no one seems to care about the competition? Well for starters it was pretty much impossible for an American to find a legitimate feed for the two play-offs against Trabzonspor, and from what I understand a lot of people ended up using the YouTube page of a network of Turkish soap operas to watch the matches in low definition 360p. This is not exactly an endorsement of the importance of this competition.
Even if this competition is totally insignificant in the eyes of Paramount +, it is in one respect: if the Giallorossi can find a way to win it, it will be their first trophy since the 2007-2008 Coppa Italia. We laugh at the UECL and its brand new trophy, but the silverware remains the silverware for a club like the Giallorossi. I’ll take him where I can find him, and I imagine The Friedkin Group will too, so hopefully you’ll continue to join us in finding a way to watch the Giallorossi make their way through the third level of European competition.
Rome against CSKA Sofia: September 16. 9:00 p.m. CET / 3:00 a.m. EDT. Stadio Olimpico, Rome.
We have already delved into the different clubs Roma will face in the group stage; suffice to say that they are not necessarily at the level of the even weaker competition that Giallorossi faces in Serie A. Given that, the name of the game for José Mourinho will undoubtedly be rotation, rotation, rotation, at least for the early stages of the Europa League Conference.
What to watch out for
How much will Mourinho turn?
Photo by Giuseppe Bellini / Getty Images
Of course, rotation is something that can come in all shapes and sizes, and how Mourinho chooses to rotate the team against Sofia will tell if this game is close or busted. Many sources have already suggested that a fairly heavy rotation would be in effect, with Matías Viña, Jordan Veretout, Tammy Abraham, Nicolò Zaniolo and Gianluca Mancini among those who could catch their breath. If so, be on the lookout for the reaction of their replacements to their first real chance to start under José Mourinho.
We will then discuss two players who could specifically benefit from this match against Sofia, but a other player I’m looking to see break out in this game is Riccardo Calafiori. He was supposed to be in contention for a start against Sassuolo last weekend, but that didn’t happen and Viña played the full 90. Will Mourinho give him a real chance now, against much weaker competition? If he doesn’t, that could indicate how far Richy needs to go until he can be more than a nominal left-back replacement.
The return of the Max (Kumbulla)
Photo by Fabio Rossi / AS Roma via Getty Images
Max Kumbula has had an odd career in Rome since his transfer from Hellas Verona last summer. During his time in Hellas he established himself as a centerpiece of Ivan Jurić’s defense, but when he moved to Rome he became a high-priced super-submarine, registering 21 appearances during his first season with I Lupi but remaining far behind Gianluca Mancini and Roger Ibañez in the pecking order. So far this season, there is no indication that Kumbula has done anything to change that hierarchy under Mourinho; he’s barely seen the pitch since Special One took over, registering just one appearance in qualifying for the UECL.
Kumbula is still incredibly young for a defender, but the more he straddles the pine behind Mancini and Ibañez, the more he looks like the Giallorossi could grow to regret their transfer of 28 million euros for the Albanian. If Kumbula has a chance to shine in the Europa Conference League and grabs it, however, he could quickly become a key rotation option for Roma, especially as Chris Smalling seems to be perpetually struggling to stay in shape.
Borja gets minutes?
Photo by Luciano Rossi / AS Roma via Getty Images
It really hasn’t been Borja Mayoral’s last two months. Despite being the club’s top scorer last season, the Friedkin squad have seen fit to sign Eldor Shomurodov and Tammy Abraham for permanent contracts this summer, and even with the departure of Edin Džeko, that puts Mayoral firmly in Mourinho’s “third option”. Depth table. It’s the opposite of ideal for a striker who was just starting to prove himself in the top flight, and this lack of room in the forward rotation is why rumors linking Mayoral to a move to clubs like Fiorentina and Atalanta resumed towards the end of the transfer window.
While still with the Giallorossi, don’t expect Mayoral to start in the heavily-turned side against Sofia; this starting attacking spot is likely to go to Eldor. Nevertheless, there are at least ninety minutes in every game, and given the fitness issues that several Roma forwards are currently facing, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Mayoral as one of the first substitutes on the bench Thursday. Just like Kumbula, if Mayoral grabs any chance Mourinho gives him on the pitch while showing he’s more than just a poacher, perhaps the Spaniard can put himself more firmly in the mix as an advanced option in the matches. Serie A.
There is little to no chance that he could become Roma’s starting striker, and if you ask me, there is an equally slim chance that the Giallorossi will end up exercising their € 20million option. on Mayoral next summer. Despite that, every chance he grabs this season increases the chances of Mayoral finding a home at a more reputable club, or maybe even returning to real Madrid. How’s that for the incentive to perform?
The conference room is a place where a group of people can come together for a business meeting or to organize a seminar. The boardroom is typically used for collaboration on various projects or meetings, with members working individually or as part of a larger team. While the actual location of the office is usually more important than its digital signage, it can be beneficial to have it present during this time. The conference room display is a digital panel that displays information about the meeting, location and time, as well as any other relevant details. It can also include additional details such as who was at the meeting and the topic of the conversation. This information is readily available to meeting members and will not distract them from their work.
The digital signage that takes place in the conference room environment is very important. Conference rooms are often used for holding important meetings or discussions, both for business purposes and for personal reasons. Conference rooms are also usually protected by a restricted entry system, requiring people to scan their ID cards when entering the room. Conference room displays can be used in a number of ways besides acting as a typical display for the room. Digital meeting room display can be used to broadcast details about the meeting itself, such as who attended and what time it starts. This information is then available to conference members when they enter the room, allowing them to prepare in advance for the meeting. This is part of the goal of digital signage, to make it easier for people to access information when they need it. Conference room screens can also be used to display information about the history of the company or the history of important decisions made by the company in relation to its staff.
Features of the conference room digital signage
Digital signage is a powerful way to communicate with your target audience. It can be inserted in any public space and used for various purposes including orientation, information, decoration and even marketing. However, in order for an audience to read the content on your digital signage, they must have good lighting. This is not always possible in dark areas or where the view is obstructed due to sunlight or other environmental factors. The answer to this problem is digital signage which includes features specifically designed for use in low light conditions. Digital displays with low light capabilities are ideal for conference rooms, lobbies, hallways and other areas where there is not enough natural light available.
When choosing a low light digital display, it is important to know the difference between traditional LCD screens and LED panels. LCD screens are great for most indoor applications, but they are not the most effective at communicating in low light environments. This is because LCD screens do not emit enough light to make content easy to read in low light conditions. However, LED panels produce a high level of light output and can be easily used outdoors without glare or glare.
The low-light digital display also has other important features that make it suitable for displaying information in rooms with minimal natural light. Content can be clearly displayed even in areas where there are multiple sources of other light as the screens are equipped with anti-glare screens. This feature can help prevent digital content from being washed out or distorted by light sources coming from behind panels. In addition, all digital displays with low light capabilities have an improved contrast ratio, which makes text and images sharper and easier to read.
How does digital signage in conference rooms help in the workspace?
Digital Conference Room Signage (CRDS) is an emerging trend among businesses that use interactive digital displays to showcase their brand or product. This allows companies to more effectively reach their target employee base and increase morale, productivity and ultimately company profits. The first step towards implementing CRDS is understanding how it can benefit your work environment.
By providing employees with up-to-date information, CRDS enables you to improve the productivity of your workforce. This helps maintain a positive company culture while ensuring that you give them the tools they need to be more productive. By displaying various forms of information, you will be able to personalize the content specifically for your staff. You will be able to improve the flow of communication throughout the office and ensure that all employees are constantly updated on company events.
The second step towards implementing CRDS is knowing how to properly position your CRDS in your workplace. There are three basic types of CRDS which include mobile, desktop, and projection screens. Although the type of display may vary depending on the space available, you should make sure that you are providing adequate power for the type of CRDS you plan to use. Mobile CRDSs are typically mounted on desks or other office furniture like tables or podiums, while desktop CRDSs are typically mounted on walls or bulletin boards. Projection CRDSs are typically mounted on a wall at a specific location for maximum visibility.
One of the most important ways CRDS can help your business is by keeping employees informed. By displaying timely information, you’ll be able to ensure that your employees have access to critical business data at their fingertips when they need it most. And once you start implementing CRDS in your office, you’ll know it will only get better from there.
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – A special groundbreaking ceremony has taken place for a longtime employee who tragically died last year due to Covid-19.
James David Howell, who was called Dave, was a beloved member of the community and an employee of WTAP.
On Wednesday, September 8, WTAP named its conference room in honor of Howell and held a balloon release ceremony in his honor.
Family, friends and colleagues were present for the dedication, and the family was grateful for the appreciation shown for Dave.
Dave’s wife Cheryl Howell described her late husband as smart, kind, loving, and simply the best. She said that during their 40 years of marriage, it was just happiness.
Since Dave passed away, Cheryl Howell has said it has been really difficult, lonely and sad. She described some of the challenges her family have faced since Dave passed away in December.
“… just knowing that he won’t come in, he won’t go through the door again,” Cheryl said. “And that was difficult because, with a COVID death, you don’t have any shutdowns, you don’t have answers, and you couldn’t visit the hospital or give them the kind of farewell that you would like to do them. I am lucky to have my family close. They took good care of me and I just need to figure out what to do with the rest of my life.
Howell has held two positions at WTAP, most recently as a sales representative. He and his family remind us all to be always grateful. Something his two daughters Danielle and Jennifer still experience today.
“He was a great father, we were fortunate to have wonderful parents and we really appreciate all that WTAP has done for us from his time in the hospital, through his death, and until to today, it just means the world to us and to us. with the community, ”said Danielle.“ It feels good to know how much your dad really was loved for someone who disliked them. attention, and we’re just blessed to have had it in our lives for as long as we’ve had it. ”
In my office, we’ve switched our desk phones to Microsoft Teams, which means all of our phone calls use the internet instead of traditional phone lines.
This type of system is known as VoIP or VOIP.
Some people have VOIP phones on their desks, while others (including me) use wireless headsets connected to their PCs via Bluetooth to talk on the phone.
Still, there are times when a speakerphone would come in handy, such as in a conference room or a small meeting.
For those situations, the AnkerWork PowerConf S500 speakerphone ($ 219.99) can clearly pick up the voices of everyone around the table.
AnkerWork is a new line of products from Anker for people working from home.
The S500 is not a real phone. It is a microphone / speaker that connects to a smartphone, tablet or computer.
I have reviewed many bluetooth music speakers that offer the same speakerphone function, but they are limited in their voice quality and connections.
The PowerConf S500 is specially designed for voice quality and has several ways to connect to your devices.
Voice quality
The S500 has a set of four MEMS microphones spaced apart to capture 360 degrees of conversation. You can place it in the middle of a table and everyone’s voice can be heard clearly.
It is equipped with VoiceRadar technology. Anker says he uses “improved, beamforming digital signal processors to pick up the speaker’s voice while ignoring surrounding noise to ensure a great sound experience for all parties.”
Anker says the speaker is sized appropriately for a meeting for up to 12 people, but if you have a large meeting (or a really long conference table), you can pair two S500s for more coverage.
It uses a 32 kilohertz Ultra-HD voice codec and customizable voice tracking modes that include 360 degree, Solo, and live streaming.
Connections
The S500 can be used wired, via USB-C cable, or wirelessly via Bluetooth.
Phones, tablets and laptops have built-in Bluetooth, so you can just press the pairing button on the S500 and connect.
If you’re using a desktop computer that doesn’t have Bluetooth, Anker includes a Bluetooth dongle so you can just plug in and play. The dongle is pre-paired to the speaker.
Anker includes a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, but it also includes a USB-C to USB-A adapter to cover any USB port on your computer.
When the S500 is connected via Bluetooth or the USB cable, it will just show up as another option in your speaker and microphone options.
Drums
The S500 has a rechargeable battery that can last up to 16 hours of call time, but if you have the speaker connected to your computer via USB, it will be powered by this source.
I can see this is invaluable for someone who travels a lot on business. Throw the S500 in a bag and you’re ready for conference calls in almost any situation. The speaker comes with a very nice semi-rigid zippered case.
The AnkerWork PowerConf S500
Controls
The S500 has four buttons along the front edge for power, play / pause, connect to another S500, and Bluetooth pairing.
There are also four programmable buttons on the top to increase and decrease the volume, mute the sound, and answer calls.
Mute is the button I use most often, and when you press mute on the S500, the button turns red along with a light strip across the width of the speaker. Everyone around the table should be able to see the mute status quite easily.
The AnkerWork app allows you to control the PowerConf S500 speaker.
Application
Anker has a new app called Anker Work to help you log in and change speaking modes.
You can also check the battery level, update the firmware, turn off the speaker and change its volume from the app. The app also allows you to turn off the LED light bar.
The Anker Work app also has a help section if you need a refresher on how everything works.
The app also has a device test feature that lets you record a phrase or two and play it back so you can hear your sound. The test screen can also play a melody through the speaker so you can check the volume levels.
Conclusion
I’ve started looking at desktop gadgets in a different way since the pandemic. Many of us were brutally sent home last year and told to open a home office.
If your business has a large IT staff, you might have been lucky enough to get some help, but a lot of people have suddenly become their own IT department.
The devices you choose to help you stay connected to the office are important.
The Anker PowerConf S500 is a good speaker at a competitive price. It has all the connection methods you could possibly need for any situation, and the sound won’t disappoint.
I made test calls to my wife and asked her to rate the sound quality on a scale of 1 to 10. She said it was a 10, and I learned not to argue with her. my wife.
Advantages: Clear sound, good connection options.
The inconvenients: Nothing.
At the end of the line : A strong performer who passes my wife’s voice quality test.
The Europa Conference League is scheduled for its launch season in 2021/22
The competition was founded to promote continental competition for non-elite clubs
Tottenham Hotspur and Roma are among the biggest teams in the tournament

The group stage of the Europa Conference Conference begins in September as the third continental European football club competition behind the Champions League and the Europa League. UEFA has announced the upcoming launch of the new tournament in 2018, with the 2021/22 edition set to be the first.
The Champions League and the Europa League will continue to attract attention, but for most of the clubs involved the Conference League is a big deal. Some of them are taking part in European competitions for the first time or for a long time, and fans of these teams will be particularly delighted to see their clubs face off against foreign teams.
The qualifying rounds are now over and the group stage is scheduled to start on September 16, 2021. The final will take place in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on May 25, 2022.

Who will win the Europa Conference League 2021/22?
Tottenham Hotspur are clearly the favorites to win the Europa Conference League this season. Harry Kane, one of the best strikers in the world, will take part in UEFA’s third division competition after Spurs finished seventh in the Premier League last season. Tottenham haven’t won silverware since 2008 and will likely take this competition seriously, an attitude that will be encouraged by their manager Nuno Espirito Santo. It’s hard to look past a Tottenham triumph as it stands.
If Spurs don’t get their hands on the trophy, Roma could. Jose Mourinho, the manager who managed Tottenham for most of last season, could even make the Conference League his priority if success is in sight in the spring. Roma have a strong squad and there is an argument that Mourinho’s style of football is better suited for knockout tournaments than a round robin format.
Rennes and Feyenoord are third favorites according to bet365, with Union Berlin just behind. If you’re looking for an exterior choice, consider Slavia Prague on +3300. The Czech side reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League last season, impressively beating Rangers and Leicester City along the way.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How to qualify for the Europa Conference Conference?
There are several ways to qualify for the Europa Conference League. UEFA ranks the 55 European leagues according to their strength, and this ranking determines how teams from different countries enter the competition. A total of 72 clubs, all from European leagues ranked between 29th and 55th, enter the first qualifying round, either via a national cup victory, a second place in the national league or a third place in the league.
The second qualifying round is divided into two sections: champions and non-champions, which indicate whether or not a club won their domestic championship in the previous season. The Champions Road features 20 teams eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers. The non-champions course features the winners of the first qualifying round, plus 54 teams from the leagues ranked between seventh and 29th, and the team that finished fifth in the domestic league placed sixth (for 2021 / 22 was Sochi from Russia).
The third qualifying round maintains the champion and non-champion sections, with 10 teams in the first and 52 in the second. Next comes the play-off round, where the five teams still in contention on the Champions Road face five eliminated teams from the Champions section of the Europa League qualifiers. The winners of these matches advance to the group stage.
In the non-champions section, clubs from the top five European leagues take part in the play-off round, including Tottenham and Roma in 2021/22. They are joined by the 26 non-champion third qualifying round winners, as well as three eliminated teams from the non-champion section of the Europa League qualifiers. Seventeen matches are played, with the winners advancing to the group stage.
The group stage therefore includes 17 teams from the non-champion qualifying path, five teams from the Champions qualifying path and 10 teams that lost in the Europa League play-offs.
Why did UEFA create the Europa Conference League?
There are two main reasons why UEFA created the Europa Conference League. The first is that it helps lighten the Europa League, which from 2021/22 will feature 32 teams in the group stage instead of 48. There is now a clear symmetry between the three European tournaments, each of which has a 32- group stage by team from this campaign.
The main reason, however, was to give clubs from smaller or weaker European nations the chance to participate in continental competition. At least 34 of UEFA’s 55 member associations are guaranteed a place in the group stage of the Europa Conference League. So while Tottenham and Roma will be making headlines in this season’s edition, the tournament was actually staged with Kairat from Kazakhstan and Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar in mind.
How does the Europa League Conference work?
The 32 teams will be divided into eight groups of four. Each team will face the others in its group at home and away, and the team that finishes first will advance to the round of 16. The team which finished second in each group will advance to the Group Stage of the Europa League. The winners of these ties will advance to the round of 16.
The format is now simple: round-trip matches in the round of 16, quarterfinals and semi-finals, followed by a final on neutral ground.
What happens if you win the Europa Conference League?
The winners of the Europa Conference League will automatically qualify for the Europa League group stage of the following season, unless they qualify for the Champions League by other means. The winning club will also receive a trophy, a set of medals and 5 million euros ($ 5.9 million) in cash prizes.
How can I watch the Europa League Conference on TV?
Football fans based in the United States can watch the Europa League Conference on Paramount +. Kick-off times (in the East) are typically 10:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on some Thursdays.
In the return leg of the Europa Conference League qualifiers, 1. FC Union Berlin parted ways with Kuopion PS 0-0. It was enough for Copenhagen to advance to the group stage of the international tournament.
1. FC Union draw against Finnish club Kuopion PS in the second round of the qualifiers for the Berlin Europa League. This means that the Bundesliga team have entered the group stage of the new international tournament and now expect attractive opponents in Friday’s draw in Istanbul.
Despite a 4-0 lead in the first leg, the guests immediately put pressure in front of 22,000 spectators and created several chances. Union forward Taiwo Avoni had the opportunity to score the first goal in the 8th and 9th minutes of the game. Only the double scorer in the first leg dominated the left side of the opponent’s penalty area and passed the ball. The Nigerian then headed for goal after a balanced cross, but guest goalkeeper Johannes Kritl said goodbye in a flash. Five minutes later, Copian’s keeper snatched another head in the air, this time from Robin Noch.
After the initial phase of Storm and Trang, the hosts shifted to one or two gears without losing control of the game. This livened up the fans and the junior slogans could be heard over and over again at the Olympic Stadium, where the Hertha PSC usually plays at home. It was in this context that the first guest attack took place. When defender Timo Bomcard adjusted his basic shoe to the side, the Finns took advantage of the brief excess. Virinen came out of the turn, but Union midfielder Timothy Buchas blocked the valley.
Shortly before the break, 1. FC Union Berlin should have taken the lead. Christopher Trimmel passed the offensive team too quickly in front of Cedric T-shirt, who raced over Taio Avoni. But Union attackers shot the ball free in front of Copian’s goalkeeper. The 24-year-old would not have missed the opportunity in the first game. Turkish referee Hull then requested a break in Umud Meller’s dressing room.
Union fans opened the second part of the game with a fireworks display. They lit up the Olympic stadium with yellow and red torches. UEFA will of course be fining Köpenickers for this. Ten minutes later, the smoke came out and the fans themselves were only distracted by the sound. During this time, no fireworks exploded in the meadow.
That changed in the 56th minute. Duchard sent Sheraldo Becker vertically as he passed Avoni. But the Finnish defense concentrated and destroyed the corner, which did not bring further union opportunities. Union coach Urs Fischer Taiwo Awoniyi then moved on to Andreas Vokalsamar, while Becker replaced Kevin Behrens. Two new forces immediately put danger in the penalty area for the guests, capturing the ball, but the Buchas ultimately clearly missed.
And the hosts again. After a precise free kick from Trimmel in the 67th minute, his defending teammate Manuel Friedrich dived into a diving header. But the attack ended in the hands of the Finnish goalkeeper. And his colleague Andreas Lot was able to differentiate himself. After Nislay’s hard blow, the Union goalkeeper put his right hand on the ball.
Then the intermission continued: Marcus Ingwarden came for Genki Haraguchi and Julian Ryerson for Christopher Trimmel. Ars Fisher sticks to his position-based trading policy. In the 75th minute, goalkeeper Louth broke again a great opportunity for Kuopion PS. Harala walked freely into the penalty area and tried to tunnel against the union keeper, but the last time he squeezed his legs and blocked the goal.
At the final whistle neither side had playing accents, so 1. FC Union Berlin and Kuopion PS parted 0-0. Copenhagen advanced to the group stage of the Europa League and the Finns were eliminated.

Austrians boss Dominik Thalhammer called them “disgusting” after the 1-1 draw in Klagenfurt – and the Saints were exactly the same as they chased their opponents all over the pitch.
But after putting them out of the race for long stretches, it was a story of two benches.
LASK got Husein Balic to spin the game, scoring the opener before winning the penalty converted by Marko Raguz.
For the Saints, the highly anticipated arrival of David Wotherspoon has turned into a disaster.
The verdict
Pike perch clark – Made a great early block to deny Hong a goal in just a few minutes, then managed more to stop Michorl and Hong, but had no luck with the two goals from LASK. 8
Shaun rooney – He moved from his usual right-winger spot in the middle and was playing well until the red haze fell late for both warnings and the penalty conceded. 5

Jason kerr – The skipper of the Saints stepped in to take on the role of midfielder in the last three and set an example. Can hold his head high after another assured performance on the Euro stage. 7
Jamie mccart – The only one of the three full-backs to play in his usual place and had a tough physical battle against Karamoko for most of the night. Defended solidly throughout. 6
James brown – Deployed as a right-back, so he must have been aware of the danger of Renner and Karamoko when he walked away from the pitch. Has advanced as well as defense. 6
Ali mccann – Considering the most difficult work on the pitch, bringing together the impressive Hong in midfield and doing well. Used to blocking and moving forward when he could. 6
Murray Davidson – Set the tone from the start with some awesome winning tackles that got fans up and bouncing McDiarmid Park. Didn’t deserve to be on the losing team. 8
Glenn middleton – Adds a huge spark of quality to the Saints frontline. Had two powerful targeted shots blocked in the second half as they pushed for a goal. 7
Callum cabin – Faced with the quick Nakamura, he had to be very careful with his defensive duties. Subbed late with the game for his team after the two goals. 6
Michael O’Halloran – He was asked to transform the LASK defense again this week and tricked Renner into an early booking. Excruciatingly close to the end of a rebound before LASK scored his goals. 7
Chris Kane – Once again, he led the line superbly for his team, manhandling defenders and winning key fouls at the top of the pitch. A player transformed in the last twelve months. 7
Submarines – David Wotherspoon (Brown 75) – Was replaced by Brown immediately after the Saints conceded the opening goal. 0 Stevie May (Kane 87) – Brought the game beyond his side. 2 Reece Devine (Booth 87) – Launched in the final minutes for Booth. 2 Liam Craig (Middleton 87) – Given a run for Middleton fair to death. 2 Charlie Gilmour (McCann 90) – Replaced McCann in added time. 2

David Wotherspoon was kicked out for a nudgeCredit: Willie Vass
In just seconds, the attacking midfielder was sent off by German referee Daniel Siebert for nudging – before Shaun Rooney stepped on for taking down Balic for the penalty.
The Saints were starved of Liam Gordon and their makeshift defense was under pressure just four minutes later when Hyon-Seok Hong allowed the South Korean to sneak in for a shot on goal.
But despite being exposed, Clark stood straight at his near post and had enough chest to push him away.
The card-happy Siebert was involved early, flashing Rene Renner a yellow for pulling Ali McCann back as the young midfielder pulled away from him to the right.
From the free kick, they fashioned a chance for Chris Kane on the corner but his touch slipped away at the crucial moment.

Much like the first leg, after resisting an early flurry, Davidson’s men set out to disrupt LASK’s game plan.
With Kane’s top three, Glenn Middleton and Michael O’Halloran refusing to let the defense settle and Murray Davidson flying in tackles in the middle of the park, they knocked McDiarmid upside down.
And in the 21st minute, the home fans in the East stand, although their team got ahead – only to realize that they hadn’t.
A galloping run from Davidson to the right resulted in a corner kick and with Middleton’s whipped ball wreaking havoc, he gunned Wiesinger before cutting Jason Kerr before flying a few inches wide.
For as comfortable as the Saints looked in spells, not keeping possession in midfield was fraught with pitfalls, as Hong was always on the prowl to unleash attacks.
He stepped forward himself in the 36th minute, slipped a superb ball to Keito Nakamura but Rooney was alert enough to block before he could test Clark.

The first half was as fragmented and disjointed as Davidson would have liked, with his team – led by Davidson – executing the game plan with huge success.
And in the second, again, they had to defend from the start as Peter Michorl saw the goal just inside the box, but Clark stretched out well to his right.
And the Scottish team’s new man was in action again in the 56th minute, beating Hong’s left-footed shot from 12 yards after he had too much room.
Davidson’s team waited and waited for the opportunity to open up – and it happened in the 66th minute.
A bouncing ball from Kane found its way to Middleton, but he couldn’t control it and was forced to clear.

This allowed McCann to take a crack that was blocked before it fell on Middleton again, but this time submarine Jan Boller threw in full force to prevent the ball from reaching the goal of ‘Alexander Schlager.
The LASK defense couldn’t protect their keeper three minutes later as Kane laid off again for Middleton, but unfortunately for Davidson’s men Schlager was up to the task to push him back just enough to escape O ‘Halloran.
But, as we’ve seen time and time again in Europe, failing to capitalize was punished at the other end as LASK took the lead.
The local defense simply couldn’t clear their lines, allowing Karamoko to shoot a low cross into the area for the Balic submarine and having created space for himself, he fired a shot above Clark in the upper corner.
Davidson responded by giving Wotherspoon a huge standing ovation – then disaster struck.
After winning a throw to the other side, the attacking midfielder entered Flecker but waved an arm and caught him.

Siebert didn’t need to think about it before reaching his top pocket.
The decision sparked fury among Saints players, with Rooney losing the lead to Thalhammer on the sideline before clinching a reservation for two wild challenges himself within seconds.
He then walked too, seven minutes from time, for pushing back Balic to concede a penalty.
Sub Raguz stepped up, sent Clark the wrong way, and booked LASK’s spot in the group stages as the usually mild-mannered Davidson traded insults with Thalhammer on the sideline.

Aberdeen has withdrawn from the Europa Conference League as their 14-year wait to reach a group stage continues.
It was a hugely disappointing night for Stephen Glass and his men as they slipped through the hands of the elegant Qarabag.
The Azerbaijani side, leading 1-0 in the first leg in Baku, managed to end the tie with a brace in 10 minutes in the first half before adding a third in the second half.
Lewis Ferguson scored a consolation on the spot in added time, but the game was long over by that point.
Glass had urged his players to create “something special” and with the Red Army behind them, it didn’t seem beyond them to reverse a one-goal deficit in the first leg.
But move quickly just 20 minutes into the game and it was truly Mission Impossible as the Dons found themselves two quick goals behind Qarabag.
Aberdeen had also started quite brilliantly and a header from Christian Ramirez intended for Jonny Hayes was deflected before reaching the Irishman.

But with just seven minutes on the clock, it was the visitors who took the lead and it was no surprise that Abdallah Zoubir was involved.
The Frenchman got past the Dons defense and fed Toral Bayramov who sent a brilliant angled shot at Joe Lewis.
Qarabag was then about to add a second when Kady simply failed to hit a low ball through Abbas Huseynov’s six-yard box.
But they were luckier next time around as Ross McCrorie was punished for reckless play as he offered possession to the Azerbaijani team.
They jumped on the mistake and Zoubir got involved again as he ran through the park before slipping through a ball for Kady to provide the finish, though there was more than a hint of off. -Game.
At this point the fear was that the roof would collapse on Aberdeen and Scott Brown perfectly timed a tackle to turn Zoubir down again.
But there was no stopping for the Frenchman as he conceded the third – no more than his game deserved – as the Dons again gave the ball away and showed excellent close control before coming home. .
The Dons got late consolation when Calvin Ramsay suffered a foul, but there was a delay in the hold as a fan entered the pitch.
He remains undisputed with the JET required to get him out – a UEFA fine could now be imposed on the club – but despite that, Ferguson was right on the spot.

Abdellah Zoubir from Hibernian in action (Image: Kenny Smith / SNS Group)
Pat Fenlon is not well remembered from his tenure at Hibs and there have been a lot of failed signings.
Abdellah Zoubir probably didn’t leave a big impression on the Easter Road faithful either during his short loan spell under the Irishman.
But the Frenchman has shown he has certainly turned into a good player as the winger tormented the Dons.
To be fair, Zoubir was only 21 when he signed up for Leith on loan from Istres and his only goal was a League Cup win over Stranraer at home.
He made 16 appearances under Fenlon and then played in Romania before returning to France with Lens then Qarabag.
Aberdeen couldn’t face him and he caused all kinds of trouble for the defense with one hand in the first two goals before scoring the third himself.
Reinforcements for Ramirez
American leader Christian Ramirez made a dazzling start to his career at Pittodria, scoring four goals in his first five games.
But the former Houston Dynamo player now has five without finding the net as he goes through a mini drought.
The USA international needed a little help and at halftime Stephen Glass gave it to him with the introduction of JET.
And the announcement of the signing of Marley Watkins, who had previously been on loan at Pittodrie, ahead of kick-off will have fans excited.
Ramirez is now hoping the ex-Inverness man can help bring out the best in him with JET, although that wasn’t enough for the tie.
Half full glass
It was bitterly disappointing as Aberdeen turned 14 and counting since they last reached the group stage in European competition.
And after a 1-0 defeat in Baku, there was every reason to believe they could have turned things around in Pittodria.
They didn’t start badly, but that quick first-half double was a hammer blow and effectively killed their hopes.
However, there is no doubt that they were up against a quality squad with a decent pedigree at this level in Europe.
This season will be their eighth in a row in the group stage of UEFA competitions, including the Champions League just three years ago, when they held Atletico Madrid in check.
It was a tough draw and it showed how well they played away.
In the second leg of the Europa Conference League qualifiers, 1. FC Union Berlin parted 0-0 from Kuopion PS. It was enough for Copenhagen to qualify for the group stage of the international tournament.
1. FC Union draw with Finnish club Kuopion PS in the second round of the Europa League qualifiers in Berlin. This means the Bundesliga side have entered the group stage of the new international tournament and are now expecting attractive opponents in Friday’s draw in Istanbul.
Despite a 4-0 lead from the first leg, the guests immediately put the pressure on in front of 22,000 spectators and created several chances. Union striker Taiwo Avoni had the chance to score the first goal in the 8th and 9th minutes of the game. Only the two-time goalscorer in the first leg dominated the left side of the opposition’s penalty area and passed the ball. The Nigerian then headed for goal after a balanced cross, but guest keeper Johannes Kritl waved goodbye in a flash. Five minutes later, the Copian keeper snatched another header in the air – this time by Robin Noch.
After the initial phase of Storm and Trang, the hosts downshifted a gear or two without losing control of the game. This cheered up the fans and the junior chants could be heard over and over at the Olympic Stadium, where Hertha PSC play usually at home. It was in this setting that the first guest attack took place. When defender Timo Bomcard adjusted his starter shoe to the side, the Finns took advantage of the brief excess. Virinen came off the corner but Union midfielder Timothy Buchas blocked the valley.
Shortly before the break, 1. FC Union Berlin should have taken the lead. Christopher Trimmel crossed the attacking side too quickly in front of Cedric T-shirt, who played at full speed on Taio Avoni. But the Union attackers fired the ball frankly in front of the Copian goalkeeper. The 24-year-old wouldn’t have missed this chance in the first game. Turkish referee Hull then called for a break in Umud Meller’s locker room.
Union fans opened the second part of the game with a pyro show. They lit up the Olympic Stadium with yellow and red torches. For this, UEFA will of course impose fines on the Köpenickers. Ten minutes later, the smoke came out, and the fans themselves were distracted only by the sound. During this time, no fireworks exploded in the meadow.
That changed in the 56th minute. Duchard sends Sheraldo Becker vertical as he passes Avoni. But the Finnish defense concentrated and destroyed the corner, which did not bring an additional union opportunity.
And hosts again. After a precise free kick from Trimmel in the 67th minute, team-mate Manuel Friedrich dived on a diving header. But the attack ended in the hands of the Finnish goalkeeper. And his colleague Andreas Lot knew how to differentiate himself. After Nislay’s strong shot, the Union keeper put his right hand on the ball.
Then the intermission continued: Marcus Ingwarden replaced Genki Haraguchi and Julian Ryerson for Christopher Trimmel. Ars Fisher stuck to his position-based trading policy. In the 75th minute, goalkeeper Louth once again broke a great chance for Kuopion PS. Harala entered the penalty area freely and tried to tunnel at the union keeper, but last time he squeezed his legs together and blocked the goal.
At the final whistle, neither team had a playing accent. 1. FC Union Berlin and Kuopion PS therefore separated 0-0. Copenhagen moved on to the Europa League group stage and the Finns were knocked out.
